Invisalign Benefits

What are the benefits of using Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners are not exactly invisible, but their clear plastic construction affords them a low-profile look making them better orthodontic treatment. Additionally, they're removable, allowing you to take them out for eating, brushing and flossing. This makes it easier to maintain your oral hygiene routine.

Invisalign is also more comfortable than traditional braces, as the aligners are made of smooth plastic and don't have any metal components that can irritate your gums or cheeks.

Finally, Invisalign treatment is typically faster than traditional braces. Depending on the severity of your case, you may be able to achieve a straight smile and perfect teeth without braces.

Invisalign is an effective treatment choice whether your teeth are too close together, spaced out, or have shifted since you had braces.

How does the Invisalign Process Work?

Assessment & Orthodontic Treatment Planning

At Artin dental office, we will begin by giving you a treatment plan and an estimate of the cost for Invisalign.

Afterward, your dentist will record the impressions and photographs of your teeth and forward the treatment plan to Align Technology's headquarters in San Jose. The 3-D computer there will then use this information to create a set of personalized aligners for you.

Daily Wear Routine

For two weeks of each set, you will wear aligners that move your teeth until the desired outcome is achieved. Generally, patients visit their dentist every six weeks or so.

With diligent care following your dentist's advice, you will find yourself with a beautifully aligned smile at the conclusion of treatment!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do Invisalign aligners straighten teeth?

Over the course of treatment at Artin Dental in Toronto, you will be supplied with a series of aligners. Each aligner will make slight adjustments to tooth position, a process that is mapped out in advance by your doctor, specifically for your situation. When the aligners are placed on the teeth, they cause the teeth to gradually shift from their current position. After approximately two weeks, you will begin using the next set of Invisalign clear aligners, which will continue the teeth straightening process.

  • How will Invisalign effectively move my teeth?

Throughout the use of the Invisalign’s patented thermoplastic design at our Toronto dental practice, Invisalign aligners move your teeth through the appropriate placement of controlled force. The main difference is that Invisalign not only controls the force, but also the timing of the force application. During each stage, only certain teeth are allowed to move. These movements are determined after we map out your unique Invisalign treatment plan.

  • What are the primary benefits of Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible. No one may even notice that you’re wearing them, making Invisalign a seamless fit with your lifestyle. Invisalign aligners are removable. For the best results and a timely outcome, aligners should be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day. However, unlike with braces, you have the flexibility to remove your aligners to eat and drink what you want during treatment. And you can also remove the aligners to brush and floss as you normally would, for fresh breath and good oral hygiene. There are no metal brackets or wires that could cause irritation to your mouth – an advantage over traditional braces. Plus, since your office visits during treatment don’t involve metal or wire adjustments, you’ll likely spend less time in the doctor’s chair. Invisalign allows you to view your virtual results and treatment plan before you start so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your treatment is complete. Instead of imagining how much better it can be, you’ll be able to see it for yourself!

  • How long will the Invisalign treatment take?

The length of treatment depends on the severity of your case, which will be determined once you visit our Toronto dental office; however, the average case takes about 12 months for adults. The length of time necessary for a teen patient may vary and can be determined when you visit for a consultation.

  • How do I get started with Invisalign?

It’s simple – We offer free initial consultations, so check if Invisalign is the right option for you by booking an appointment at our downtown Toronto dental office in Financial District, located in the PATH, between First Canadian Place and Exchange Tower.
